What make a good advertisement? It is one that captures the attention of consumers and move them towards a decision to make a purchase of a certain product. This is the goal of every ad – to make you buy. Now, what makes you – as a consumer to decide?
Let us study one type of media – television. In between your favorite comedy or drama, you are presented with various ‘commercials’. Try to observe, it will be very rare that you will view an ad for just one time within the whole program. At an average one ad may be repeated 3-5 times during your viewing time. This is because advertisers want their message to get into your subconscious. They want you to embrace their product by presenting to you their message repeatedly. Have you noticed yourself singing the jingle of a very frequent commercial, memorizing and replaying the ad in your mind? This is how your brain can be manipulated.
Moving on to the more important things in life, this same way of control can be used towards how you should view your goals.
