Don't Understand? Trust God

God gave each one of us a specific purpose and at the same time a measure to have control over our destiny. He has given us the power to control our destiny.

‘The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.’ - Albert Ellis

But there are times when we don’t understand and we freeze.

Don't Understand? Trust God
by Rick Warren

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

You may be facing a dead end right now—financial, emotional, or relational—but if you will trust God and keep on moving in faith, even when you don’t see a way, he will make a way.

It will become more understandable as you head down the path he sets before you, but understanding is not a requirement for you to start down the path. Proverbs 4:18 says, “The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter till the full light of day.” One day you will stand in the full light of eternity and view the big picture. You’ll see God’s purpose behind the path he specifically chose for you.

In the meantime, do what Proverbs 3 says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Be patient. God knows what He’s doing. God knows what is best for you. He can see the end result. You can’t. All those problems, heartaches, difficulties and delays—all the things that make you ask “why”—one day will all be clear in the light of God’s love.

But for now, we’re learning to trust God.

The Choice....

We are all given the benefit of a CHOICE. Whatever life has given us we are always given 2 options. The following story tells us about the power of …

THE CHOICE ..

John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, 'If I were any better, I would be twins!'

He was a natural motivator.

If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked him, 'I don't get it!'

'You can't be a positive person all of the time.
How do you do it?'

He replied, 'Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or...you can choose to be in a bad mood

I choose to be in a good mood.'

Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or...I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.

'Yeah, right, it's not that easy,' I protested.

'Yes, it is,'he said. 'Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood.

You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life.'

I reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back.

I saw him about six months after the accident.

When I asked him how he was, he replied, 'If I were any better, I'd be twins....Wanna see my scars?'

I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.

'The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter,' he replied. 'Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could choose to die. I chose to live.'

'Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?' I asked.

He continued, '...the paramedics were great.

They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I needed to take action.'

'What did you do?' I asked.

'Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,' said John. 'She asked if I was allergic to anything 'Yes, I replied.' The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity''

Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.'

He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude....I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

Attitude, after all, is everything.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.' Matthew 6:34.

After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

TWO BIG QUESTIONS

Who am I? and What makes me happy?

Have you tried answering these 2 questions? I mean really sat down and look deep within yourself to know the answer? 90% of successful people have realized this early and have used the answers to guide their way of life.

Knowing who you are and what makes you happy open your mind to your life’s purpose. Listen to God’s voice in the depths of your being. We are all created with a beautiful purpose. Live for this purpose, die for this purpose. Having a clear perspective of your purpose give direction. You’ll have something to do, something to love and something to look forward to. If you have these three things, it’ll be very difficult to be miserable!

Steve Goodier in his article simply puts it this way… ‘How can you get very far, if you don't know who you are?’

Read his full article, I’m sure you’ll be inspired.

DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE?

Comedian Woody Allen says, "My one regret in life is that I am not someone else."

I heard of one man who took trying to be someone else too seriously. Newspapers reported that Dutch police arrested a man in the town of Rosendaal. They found him in possession of 186 false papers, including 29 Nigerian passports, 30 British passports, 74 Dutch work permits, 12 British driving licenses, 18 birth or death certificates, 2 British student cards, an international driving license and 20 forged checks. Once he was in custody, they still had a problem. They weren't sure who he was.

I have no regrets that I'm not someone else. But that doesn't mean I've always been clear about just who I am. I like the way A. A. Milne's "Winnie the Pooh" (THE WORLD OF POOH) puts it:

"How can you get very far, If you don't know who you are? How can you do what you ought, If you don't know what you've got?"

One man said, "I go to a doctor and pay him 75 dollars an hour, and all he does is ask me the same question my father used to ask me all the time: 'Who do you think you are, anyway?'" But that's not a bad question, really. How can you get very far, if you don't know who you are?

I think I spent the first 20 or 30 years of my life trying to define who I really was. I thought I'd never know what to study in school and I was sure I'd never figure out what kind of person I might be happy spending my life with. I managed to get through that phase of life and then, just when I thought I knew myself fairly well, I discovered I'd changed. And through the years I keep changing. It seems like I've always been up against the question, "Who am I -- really?"

I appreciate Benjamin Kubelski's story. In 1902, his father gave him a violin for his eighth birthday. It cost $50, a small fortune in those days, and especially for a recently immigrated Russian family. Benjamin did well and was playing concerts as a teenager. At age 18 he teamed up with a woman pianist as a musical team in Vaudeville.

But he suspected the violin did not satisfy his heart's desire. Then one night, Benjamin impulsively decided to tell the audience about a funny incident that had happened during the day. He later said, "The audience laughed and the sound intoxicated me. That laughter ended my days as a musician." And it began his life career as entertainer Jack Benny.

He found who he was and everything fit into place. How can you get very far, if you don't know who you are?

But how do you figure out who you are? Short of taking a battery of aptitude and personality tests (which, by the way, do have their place), there are two simple and accurate ways of knowing yourself
better.

First, ask someone who loves you. Ask her to describe you in as much detail as she can. Her opinion may not be conclusive, but others see us differently than we see ourselves.

And second, pay attention to what stirs your emotions. I sometimes ask people, "What do you like to do so much that you would do it for free if you could?" What makes your heart sing?

How can you get very far, if you don't know who you are? Answer these simple questions and I think you'll know.

HURT? Choose to Pray

As humans we can’t avoid to get hurt.

Hurt is a feeling difficult to run away from. We are hurt when we get insulted, when our values get violated, when people lie to us. Often times, to overcome hurt we choose to ignore and bury it deep within us hoping that time will make the hurt go away. Unfortunately it doesn’t. It just hides itself and when you’re faced with the same circumstances again this hurt multiplies until it becomes huge enough to eat you whole.

Keeping hurt stops you from concentrating on the more important things in life – YOUR GOALS.

It takes a lot of strength not to hurt back someone who has offended you. Until you get even, all your plans are directed to payback. So what do you do?

Don’t play their game. Acknowledge your hurt and lift up the situation to God.

Think about this… Changing oneself takes a lot of effort, what more changing other people. We have no control over how others prefer to act or think but we can choose how we should.

Turn the hurt into a blessing. Pray for those who hurt you. Let go of things you can’t change. Believe in your values. Magnify your strength. Focus on your goals.

Remember that God loves you and this love is BIG. God has a beautiful purpose for your life. Focus on your uniqueness and direct yourself towards the fulfillment of your life’s goals to make a difference in this world.

Find comfort in God the Father who hears even before we speak.

Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

BLESS AND BE BLESSED

Have you ever wished you could start to attract better things into your life... instead of all the worst-case scenarios you envisioned?  Evaluate what you think about because YOU Attract Your Greatest Fears!

If you’re living exactly the opposite of how you dream to live your life, it must be due to the kind of thoughts you keep in your head that ultimately sends out a negative vibration to your world.  Good news is that you can change that and begin to attract what you want.

YOUR THOUGHTS ARE POWERFUL, BE GUIDED DAILY.

The manifestation doesn't come because you've been thinking about it.  It comes because of the emotion and the feeling that's behind your thoughts.  Manifestation occurs because of the feelings that you send out, not because of your thoughts.  If you feel good about anything at all, then you're going to attract things that you associate with being good.
When you simply visualize your desires for the purpose of manifesting them, although that visualization may feel good, you're also including into your vibration the feelings that you do not already have the desire.

You cannot want something and not include that wanting into your vibration.  You need to feel good for the purpose of feeling good.

How to instantly raise your vibration!

A powerful way to raise your vibration instantly is through B L E S S I N G!

When you bless people you give to them from your heart, sending out positive loving wishes and warm hearty energies that uplift and beckon always the most beautiful becoming.

"Bless people unconditionally from the depths of your heart.
Wish them well sincerely with a lighted spark!" ~Aine Belton .

Doing so is a great gift to others, and to yourself also!

You can't not receive what travels through you in that sense, and your own energy field and vibration will be raised and enhanced, boosting your personal positive attractor-factor!

In blessing others, your become a receptor and benefactor of your blessings too!

Blessings are born of love, care, giving and appreciation. They are pure, beautiful expressions of the heart and will enhance, not only the lives of others, but will lift your spirits and raise your vibration instantly in the process!

Winner Everday

I start and end my day with a prayer. This is how I win in my daily battle. I pray for my family, friends, good health, abundance, guidance, safety, wisdom, traffic, weather, my car’s condition and most specially the difficult people in my life. I know what you are saying… why pray or them who pour vinegar on your already bleeding wound. But believe me, I pray for my boss who is the most demanding, complicated, problematic and not easy to be around with person in the planet! Me, exaggerating?! Nah…. Of course not.

Let me give you an example to prove how unbelievably challenging it is to be with this person.

But first a short background...

I work overseas, when I first arrived in this new country I prayed to God to put me in a company where I can be productive, contribute my expertise and become the best that I can be while being compensated well. God answered all my prayers, however I forgot one thing – I did not ask Him to give me a kind and gentle boss (now this is why we have to be specific in our prayers!)

I am Asian, she is European – see how different our cultures are? The job interview went well (she is obviously impressed) but I knew from day one in the office that it is not going to be an easy ride. I knew because my new colleagues gave me this ‘HOW LONG WILL SHE STAY ’ look from the beginning since I am working very closely with the boss.

She is the real life Miranda (Meryl Streep’s character in the movie The Devil Wears Prada).

Now for that example/s…

The boss loves to scream. She’s in black everyday and had forgotten to smile. She is grouchy from the time her day starts making a big deal out of nothing like when a file is not opening quickly because she decided to be so impatient clicking on a folder 100 times causing her system to jam. What’s worst is that every time this happens (which is every day), she’ll make sure the whole office knows about it shouting her head out to have someone fix the mess.

Have you met somebody who at the sight of the tip of her nose will make you want to hide under the desk … this is the person. She takes pleasure in making people nervous and attacks her prey more seeing fear in your eyes.

And she’s a master at releasing stress. This is how she does it. She finds fault, use up her energy to look for a mistake, yells at the concerned (nobody is allowed to explain), dials your number and relay her version of the story, tell you how stupid (her favorite word) and how badly the person acted… a good 15 minutes (if you’re lucky). And by the way, you can hear her voice with the receiver 5 feet away from your ears. Oh and all this drama when you’re not even the least concerned about the issue. You’ll end up asking yourself… What am I suppose to do about it? Nothing, she just wants you to listen and get all stressed!

This was the scenario I had to live with until my contract expires. Am I still with the company? Yes… I survived and even renewed my contract for another term.

WHY? Because she changed, not yet totally (she’s a work in progress – lol!) but she’s a lot different now, calm and more in control of her emotions.

One day she was screaming so hard on the phone, screeching and cursing at something I have nothing to do and no control over, it was so obvious from my reply and sound of my voice that I’m fed up and tired of her unbelievable attitude. Two hours later when she calmed down, she apologized for her behavior.

HOW?

I am generally a ‘deadma’ (don't care) person. I work and deliver my job well – ‘Trabaho lang, walang personalan’ (just work, nothing personal) . While people around me wallow and become affected by the boss’ negative ways, I would silently say a small prayer for confidence, wisdom and protection. When I am about to loose my patience, I’d breath deeply and release the bad energy she’s bringing upon me. Every morning, she’s on my top 10 list of people to pray for. I ask God to make her calm and considerate so the day would turn out peaceful, this way I am not only helping her but more so myself because I don’t have to deal with a stressful day.

To quote Mr. Rick Warren in his article ‘Pray for Others’

The quickest way to change a relationship from bad to good is to start thanking God for people you are having difficulty getting along with.

Praying for them will do two things -- change your attitude and change them. Positive praying is much more powerful than positive thinking. People may resist our help, spurn our appeals, and reject our suggestions, but they are powerless against our prayers.

True enough, people are indeed powerless against our prayers. Jesus said, ‘…. If you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains….’ Nothing is bigger than our God. All we have to do is place our hope in Him.

Prayer is a free gift. Praying is entrusting ourselves and our circumstances to God hoping that through His mercy we are blessed. While we continue to pray for ourselves and our loved ones, let us not forget to include a short prayer for the difficult people in our lives, because by doing so we share the benefit of God’s gift of prayer to everyone – good or bad – even if they don’t know.

Pray. This is how to win everyday.

Power of Prayer

Prayer has always been a part of me. I begin and end my day with a prayer.

In my prayers, I would ask God to bless the fruits of my work, guidance as I make decisions, good health for me and my family, for all our needs to be met and to be led towards the right way, etc etc… Seldom do I think about people who makes my life difficult – why pray for those who cause me pain.

One day I got fed up with this colleague who has nothing to do but give stress to the whole office. She would scream, find fault at everything, and make everybody nervous merely by her presence. I began to say a small prayer for her so she’ll somehow give us peace while we work. I did this everyday and guess what happened… she got sick after some months and this made her realize that she’s putting too much strain on herself and she needed to calm down. Now she has more control over her emotions. She still screams unreasonably sometimes but at least she’s become aware and makes an effort to manage herself.

This is the power of prayers. While we always pray for our intentions and our loved ones , let us not forget that praying for the difficult people in our lives will eventually ease our pain and make life more meaningful.

The following article by Rick Warren, the author of ‘Purpose Driven Life’ tells us about the power of praying for others.

PRAY FOR OTHERS by RICK WARREN

“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.” Philippians 1:4 (NIV)

What do you pray? The more specific you are in prayer, the more specific the answer will be.

In Philippians 1:9-11, Paul spells out exactly what he’s praying for people. “And this is my prayer, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.” (NIV)

These verses give you four things you can pray for people today –

“Abound in love …” Pray that they will grow in love.
“Discern what is best …” Pray that they make wise choices.
“Be pure and blameless …” Pray that they will do the right thing.
“Filled with the fruit of righteousness …” Pray that they will live for God’s glory

Today I open myself to God's word so that
I become more like Jesus everyday.

Uplifting Thoughts

Obstacles are those fearful things you see when you set your eyes off the goal.

There are many things we don’t realize and even forget every day but are 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for...

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take another look

11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

12. Good friends are like stars.....You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

13. I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here
than a whole truck load when I'm gone.

14. Whenever God Closes One Door He Always Opens Another.

15. Happiness keeps You Sweet, Trials keep You Strong, Sorrows keep You Human, Failures keeps You Humble, Success keeps You Glowing, But Only
God keeps You Going

Meditation Benefits

The Spiritual Benefits of Meditation by: Aine Belton

The benefits of meditation reach far beyond the effects on the body.
In fact, your body ultimately reflects the goings on at higher levels, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Meditation is a gateway between worlds and allows you to experiences expanded states of consciousness beyond the confines of your conscious mind and personality self.

Through meditation you can access more of the love, light and power of your grander truer self, and gifts, healing, and insights from higher realms of existence.

Meditation can help to free you from the grip of mental 'tape-loops' and conditioning, ego agendas and reactionary thoughts and feelings that distract you from the truth and your empowered self.

You can return to center and the remembrance that you are source, not subject, of your world.

Meditating assists you in stepping 'outside of the box' and seeing beyond the illusion; the matrix of beliefs and perspectives reflected out there in your physical reality.

You can experience the 'more real'; the energy and essence of your eternal self and the loving embrace of Source/God-Goddess/the universe. You can discover the oasis within - a place of peace, power, joy, love, and bliss.

You can experience more of your radiance that can shine that light to hold steady amidst outer noise, drama, stirrings and the moving tides of your external reality.

Meditation feeds your true self. It nurtures the flower that you are, giving it the space, nourishment and attention with which to blossom and bloom.

It opens the door to your temple within; a sacred space where you can 'just be', relax and recharge, and connect with your more real authentic self.

Doing so strengthens your core and access to the love and light and magnificent being that you are.

It also strengthens your personal connection to Source and your infinite nature, allowing more of YOU - your Higher Self- to shine in the world.

KICK THAT HABIT AWAY

“Form good habits…be a good person” is the universal motherly advice every one of us can recall when we scratch the realm of our memories. Tiny tots and youngsters are forever bound, protected and guided by their seniors and elderly in order to help them on to tread the path laid on time tested principles of honesty and good behavior. Yet sometimes unknowingly they take the forbidden route just to prove things for the heck of it.

Due to the extreme stress, strain and stretch of the competitive world around any person today, we tend to be more susceptible to succumb to pressure and buckle under it. Here’s where the need for addiction in any form arises which however provides only temporary solace rather than erasing the real cause. We sometimes latch on to it and slowly get further and further suck into its false whirlpool leading us to lose our will power.

Here’s the good news, any addiction can be overcome, any bad patch overridden if only we could endure it by facing it head-on keeping the following lines from Kipling in mind

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds worth of distance run
Yours is the earth and everything that’s in it
And – which is more – you’ll be a MAN!

There are 3 major things you need to kick that bad habit away… DETERMINATION – WILLINGNESS FOR CHANGE – ACCEPTANCE. Have these 3 while following the steps below and you’re on your way to becoming a new YOU.

1/ Know your ‘WHY’. Often times a strong why is all you need to get moving. In order to let go of a habbit that is no longer serving you, you really need to sit down and evaluate the reasons why this is no longer serving you. Be honest with yourself as this may be very challenging realizing you don't need something that you've been holding on to for a long time.

2/ Choose the people who you hang out with. Not all your friends are good influence and you may have acquired a bad habit from a friend or group of friends and even share that habit you once did. Realize everyone breaks bad habits at their own time. Be careful if you are in a situation where you are feeling the need to get back into your bad habit because of peer pressure. Yes, Peer pressure still exists when you are much older. Keep clear of extra temptation to do bad.

3/ Take 3 long deep breaths. This is a technique that you should get in the habit of doing. Every time you are thinking about taking action on a bad habit, take 3 long deep breaths and totally clear your mind. This will allow you to be clear and re-evaluate your situation.

Happy Easter

Easter is all about new life… new beginnings.  This Easter let us remember the true essence of life… which is to love.

Here are valuable thoughts to ponder.

The most powerful way of bringing someone closer to Jesus is through your simple, loving friendship.

Your mission in life isn’t to earn money. Your mission isn’t to enjoy life. Your mission isn’t to have a good time. Your mission isn’t even to be happy. All these goals are good and yes our Father in heaven wants us to be happy. But they’re not the sacred purpose of why you were born.  Our sacred mission is to love.

Don’t hurt anyone.  It only takes a few seconds to hurt people you love, and it can take years to heal.

Live today.  There are two eternities that can really break you down.  Yesterday and Tomorrow.  One is gone and the other doesn’t exist… so choose to live today.

It takes years to build trust and only a few seconds to destroy it

Do not marry a person that you know you can live with; only marry someone that you cannot live without.

What is most valuable is not what you have in your life but who you have in your life.

Have a happy blessed Easter to all!

CARRY YOUR ROSARY EVERYDAY

When you carry a Rosary, Satan has a headache.
When you use it, he collapses.
When he sees you praying it, he faints.
Let us pray the rosary every time, so that he'll keep fainting.

Maybe one day, he'll have a stroke and never be able to work.
Did you also know that when you are about to forward this message,
Satan will try to discourage you?
Forward it anyway and help hasten the triumph of Mama Mary!
Send this to your prayerful friends and see how the Holy Spirit works!

There is a great deal to gain and absolutely nothing to lose!

Hi Everyone,

Imagine what might happen if every Catholic in the world would pray a Rosary on the same day! We have an example in October of 1573, when Europe was saved from the invasion of the mighty Turkish fleet, by the praying of the Rosary by all Christians!

So, on Good Friday, let us all pray a Rosary for peace in the world and the return of moral values into our communities. If possible, please pray your Rosary between Noon and 3:00pm.

Also, please send this message to every Catholic on your address list, and ask them to pass it along to every Catholic on their lists. Let's unite in praying one of the most powerful prayers in existence, for these intentions, on one of the holiest days in our Church year.

Spring to Succes!

Dear curious Mind subscriber,

Today I quote a reflection from Didache.  The day I received this message was exactly the day when I felt the season is literally changing from Winter to Spring.  Is that a coincidence?  I don't think so... for me it is God saying something as He always does when there is a BIG question on top of my head.

Any way, to go on.... I love winter - having been born and raised in a tropical country, the experience of winter is magical.  The low temperatures, cold wind, clothes I get to wear - all super for me.  But my favorite season is Spring - just the right temperature, nice and sunny at the same time cool and windy.  The bright colors of the flowers and trees give you that warm, relaxed feeling.  I also see spring as a signal to new life - a new beginning.  A time when I am at my best.  A time when we pull ourselves together to prepare for the seasons to come.

This is my idea of Spring and I guess God is telling me to make every season of my life to be Spring.  So how about you?

Please continue reading to get inspired....

PLANT IN THE SPRING

Give to the Most High as he has given to you, generously, according to your means. – Sirach 35:9

When I watched the replay of Manny Pacquiao’s victory over Ricky Hatton, I recalled the great quote by Jim Rohn. He said, “You must be good in either two things: planting in the spring or begging in the fall.”
From Monday to Saturday, Manny starts training from 5:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Manny is a winner because “he plants during spring.”  I am not Manny, but the stage is my ring. When it comes to my talks for The Feast, I “overtrain.” I read a ton of books just to give one single talk. For many days, I’d labor over it, crafting my message, selecting the right stories, choosing and re-choosing the right adjectives and adverbs, rehearsing my entire talk over and over again — until I can give my talk in my sleep.
Why do I “overtrain” in my talk preparation?
Because I love my audience.
Because they deserve the best.
Because I can’t give nothing than my best to God, the One who anointed me with the gift to preach.Bo Sanchez (bosanchez@kerygmafamily.com)

REFLECTION:
What’s your boxing ring? How can you overtrain to win for God?

Dearest Father, may I be like Your Son, Jesus, who gave nothing but the best for You in His life.

Stress, Forgiveness and Your Reality

I know of many people who have difficulty letting go of past and even present hurts.  I for one is guilty of this.  The hurt is so deep and the pain just won't go away until at some point this pulls you back every time you try to move forward.  This kind of pain causes stress and now affects our total self and how we create our reality.

Yes, we do create our reality by choosing or allowing things to happen.  The more you take responsibility for your life, the more you can change it!  From a place of radical responsibility, forgiveness can be seen in a brand new light.

Here are some thoughts about forgiveness to reflect on...

"Forgiveness is really self-forgiveness. If the world is simply a reflection of your own mind, if all blame and judgement are projections of your own guilt and self-attack, then forgiveness of others releases both the others and the subconscious guilt within you. Guilt is really a form of arrogance which makes life all about oneself, rather than just learning the lesson, correcting the mistake and moving on. Forgiveness puts things in perspective and brings back innocence. It returns life to ease, flow and confidence. Forgiveness is not a form of winning the competition while another fails. Nor is it about condescension or superiority. It is not deigning to grant the other mercy - which is really superiority (hidden judgement and overcompensation for guilt and feelings of inadequacy) and competition (distraction from success and fear of the next step)."- CHUCK PEZZANO

"Those who forgive are thus releasing themselves from illusions, while those who withhold forgiveness are binding themselves to them. As you condemn only yourself, so do you forgive only yourself."

"The unforgiven have no mercy to bestow upon another. That is why your sole responsibility must be to take forgiveness for yourself. The miracle that you receive, you give."

"As I look about, I condemn the world I look upon. I call this seeing. I hold the past against everyone and everything, making them my enemies.  When I have forgiven myself and remembered Who I am, I will bless everyone and everything I see. There will be no past, and therefore no enemies. And I will look with love on all that I failed to see before."
