Look at the Good Picture

The mind is the most powerful organ of your body. What you put in your mind happens. It only sees what you instruct it to see and blocks out everything else. Putting it another way, what you choose to focus on is what you get!

Have you ever noticed that people who always complain about everything that’s going wrong with their lives only get more problems? That’s because these people focus on problems!

The reason why people get discouraged is because all they see is their problem. It is their only picture. To attract positive things and make good things happen, you need to change your picture.

Quick Meditation Guide

Everyone has stress. It’s a fact of life. How we react to that stress can make a world of difference, though. It can literally make us healthy or unhealthy.

Studies show that stress and anxiety contribute to at least 80 percent of all illnesses that people suffer from today. Over 19 million people are negatively affected by stress related disorders, but they don’t have to be. There are ways that you can make stress disappear or even work FOR you instead of AGAINST you.


One very effective way to deal with stress is through MEDITATION. Studies show that people who meditate regularly (1 to 2 times daily) are physically years younger than other people their same chronological age.

Following is a meditation technique that is extremely successful with everyone that takes the time to master it. This is a short, fifteen minute meditative break that you can easily incorporate into even the busiest of days. 

Gain Control of Your Mind, Gain Control of Your Life

This simple procedure creates a deep state of relaxation in your mind and body. As your breathing quiets, your mind also quiets, but remains awake. If you fall asleep while doing this activity, you are not getting adequate sleep at night. Change your schedule until you can remain awake and alert while practicing this technique.

Making an audio tape of these instructions in your own voice, and using it during your first several practices, very quickly improves your success. Using some quiet music in the background while making your tape is another very helpful addition. The numbers in parentheses below are about how long to pause between instructions on your tape. 

• Close your eyes. (30 seconds)
• Gently, allow your awareness to be on your breathing. Just observe your breath as you breathe in and out. (30 seconds)
• Innocently be aware of your breathing. Do not try to alter it in any conscious way. (1 minute)
• As you observe your breath, you may notice that it changes. It may speed up or slow down. It may get deeper or more shallow. It may seem to stop for a time. Whatever happens with your breathing, just observe it, without anticipating or resisting any changes. (1 minute)
• At times, your attention may drift away from your breath and go to a thought in your mind, some sensation in your body, or a sound. Whenever you notice that you are not observing your breath, gently bring your attention back to your breathing. (1 minute)
• Give up any expectations you may have. When you notice that you are focusing on some expectation, treat this as you would any other thought and gently bring your awareness back to your breath. (silence for at least 10 more minutes)
• Take about 1 minute to slowly open your eyes.

Practice this technique, SITTING, for at least 15 minutes, twice a day, in the morning and in the late afternoon. You may also do this for a few minutes during the day, if you are feeling upset, tense or agitated. It will help you to relax and regain control.

VISUALIZE YOUR WAY OUT OF STRESS AND TOWARDS SUCCESS

Many people report very beneficial and soothing results out of using simple visualizations frequently. The mind is much like a muscle in that, in order to relax, it needs to regularly release what it is holding onto.

You can use any situation or location that will help calm you. We liken this to “finding your happy place”. Maybe you feel relaxed in a swimming pool or on the beach. Imagine yourself there. Just make sure wherever you go in your mind is a place where you can be calm and rested.

By visualizing the different situations, you are allowing your mind to release. It is like sending a message to your brain that when you close your eyes and begin this process it is time for letting go of anything that it has been mentally holding onto, including anxious thinking.

In order to train your mind how to let go of the stress, it is important to practice this daily. With practice, you can learn to release all stress within minutes of starting the exercise. Your daily practice should take place before going to bed, as that will enable you to sleep more soundly.

Many people do not do these visualizations in the bedroom but some other room before going to bed. That way, when they enter the bedroom and close the door, they are leaving the mental stress and anxious thinking behind them. Just be sure you have the opportunity to totally concentrate on your mental images.

Visualization as a tool for dealing with mental stress is very effective. If such visualization is carried out properly, you can reach a deep feeling of inner calm. This technique probably will not work in helping to end an anxiety attack, but it can help that attack from beginning. It is a very powerful support tool for ridding yourself of general anxiety sensations.

With practice, you find you go days without having anxious thinking interrupt your life, and importantly, this significantly reduces the level of general anxiety you feel.

Visualization is simply a tool you can use to overcome anxious thoughts and feelings. And once you free yourself from stress and anxiety you are ready to welcome the world with a more positive energy whereby opening doors to your success!

Repeatition is Key

You need to soak and immerse yourself in the truth. I strongly believe that every now and again it's important and therapeutic to refresh your mind with some simple, yet powerful 'truths.'

To have a powerful effect in your life, absorb the same truth many, many times. Listen to the same good stuff again and again

Life is far too short to settle for trudging along in a fog of discontent or unhappiness. As a matter of fact, even if things are going pretty well for you--there is so much more waiting for you!

Words for Success

 Dear curious Mind subscriber,

Today I would like to share with you some POWER WORDS or should I say phrases I receive daily.  This brings to me positive mindset everyday... As you know staying positive brings about success.  Cheers to our success!

It’s true. At the onset, you cannot change the direction of the wind. But
you can change the direction of your sails. And that will bring you to where you want to go... by adjusting your sails, you’ll discover how this can change the direction of the wind too.


Unsuccessful people use their words to describe their situation; Successful people use your words to direct their situation.


When you face a problem, instead of calling them problems, call them presents. And don’t call them burdens, call them blessings! Don’t call them trials, call them treasures.


Say this out loud, “Lord, thank you that my problems are growth opportunities. I believe that all things will work for good to those who love You. I believe that what was intended for my harm, you will transform and turn it into my good.”


Don’t talk about how you are; talk about how you want to be. Don’t talk about where you are; talk about where you want to go!


Don’t just talk about your problems; talk about your purpose. Because problems weigh you down. But purpose lifts you up. And if you pursue your purpose, many of your problems get solved along the way.
